Welcome to BeeJay's Blog. Not sure yet whether I'll offer opinions on sex, politics, religion, or sports but might try posting some pictures once in awhile. Thanks for looking! BJ Please feel free to enter 'comments' under any of the postings!

Lollipops
I'm not sure why, but my sister suggested I post this picture of her. (centre) She is the Queen Bee of the Cowichan Lake Red Hatters. Here they're singing "The Good Ship Lollipop" as they are known at the lake as the Cowichan Lake Lollipops. She also tells me they now have their own Blog.....'lakelollipops.blogspot.com'. Check it out if you dare!

The Jones Boys
This is my Dad, on the right, with his two brothers....left to right...George, Chester, and Jack. These three accumulated over 100 years of service with Ontario Hydro where they all worked most of their careers. Uncle George was Superintendent of Maintenance, Uncle Chester was Superintendent of Construction, and Dad was Superintendent of Operations. In this picture they appear to be looking over some project model or something. We were certainly an Ontario Hydro family....most of the offsprings spent some time with the Hydro...a few of my cousins making it their fulltime career. I worked 6 summers with Hydro while going to school but then somehow ended up in the telephone business.

Swimming Lessons
While Mommy is away at Whistler....she said it was a "Math Conference"....Grandma had the fun of taking Teo to his weekly swimming lesson. Looks like Teo got dunked but I don't think Tricia got her hair wet. Karen was co-presenting at the conference and Weilly got to experience fulltime babysitting....ie. two overnights at home. Weily and Teo will meet up with Karen in Whistler tomorrow for a little R&R for the three of them.

Jim and Marcia Coast on By
Jim and Marcia dropped by for lunch today....no not in their dinghy. They were on their way back home to Sidney and as they know, they are not allowed to pass by without stopping in. We got all caught up on the summer cruising news. Jim and Marcia were our mentors for cruising 'North of Desolation Sound'....they introduced us to the 'Broughtons'.....they showed us the way around 'Cape Caution'.....they shared many special anchourages with us.... and they even taught us how to "raft". We taught them how to play dominos, but don't let it be known that they played games....it's our little secret.

Hard to Spell, Easy to Draw
Saskatchewan has a great logo...."Saskatchewan....Hard to Spell, Easy to Draw". We just all got our new Saskatchewan T-shirts with the logo on them. As you can see the province has a pretty basic shape with the top half being basically green, actually quite beautifully treed, and the bottom half quite yellow with wheat fields as far as you can see.

Stellar Jay
This guy was real hard to get close to and to get him to stand still. The camera was zoomed right in to 12x and then the pictures were heavily cropped, but until I get a better picture of one of these Jays this will have to do. This is the first time I have seen Jays in and about our area. The Stellar Jay is the provincial bird of British Columbia. It's counterpart in the east is the Blue Jay....hard to imagine them catching balls and swing bats.
Bailey
This is Bailey...ie. Jacob's cat, out enjoying what may be some of the last sun rays of the summer. He is a beautiful cat but typically quite independent although today he sat on my lap for a few minutes which he does only once in awhile with me regardless on how much I coax him to come and enjoy a scratch behind the ears. He has a sister called 'Midnight'...guess what colour 'Midnight' is?

Grampa Jones
Grampa Jones and my Dad always enjoyed their occasional bottle of beer. I guess it was getting this early start that made me less of a beer drinker. Now that I am a Grampa I'll have to see what influences I can bring to the little ones.
I know this picture is old but how old is that car? I don't remember living in that era. The first car that I remember my Dad owning was a 1949 Monarch...it was a monster of a car. He had to build side curbs along our house and our neighbours house so that he could get the car safely along the driveway between the two houses and into the garage at the back of our house.
Cousins
An old favourite picture of the good old days. We, as cousins basically grew up together with many great times at their house, at our house, and at the cottage. My sister Maureen, Cousin Ted, cousin Bob, me, cousin Rick, and cousin Debby. Pretty hansome bunch...a rare occasion that we would be dressed up like this. Anyone know what the occasion was?
