Dad's Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

    Recipe:

    1 cup of Shortening
    1 cup of Brown Sugar
    1 cup of White sugar

    Cream the above

    Add

    2 Large Eggs
    1 tsp. Vanilla
    1/2 tsp. Almond Extract (optional)

    Mix in the above

    Add

    3/4 cup White Flour
    3/4 cup Whole Wheat Flour
    1 tsp. Baking Soda
    1 tsp. Salt

    Mix in the above

    Add

    3 cups Quaker Oats
    1+1/2 cups of Chocolate Chips

    Stir in the above

    Drop by Tablespoon onto Cookie Sheet

    Bake at 350 for 8 to 10 minutes
